Stop the Fossil Fuel Industry Now!

Today climate activists with Extinction Rebellion Boston & XR Youth rallied in Dewey Sq on Atlantic Ave in Boston. From there, climate protesters marched down Atlantic Ave all the way down to Waterfront Park, chanting and singing, demanding no new fossil fuel infrastructure in Massachusetts. At the park, protesters enjoyed home cooked vegan Tamales & brownies, listened to speakers discussing the climate emergency and steps that are necessary to combat against climate collapse. Protesters were divided into small groups to form "citizens assemblies" to learn about and participate in an exercise of consensus and mutual consent, as well as to share each other's thoughts on the current action taken, how each activist first became involved in Extinction Rebellion, and other questions.

After the speeches and group exercises were finished activists enjoyed creating Extinction Rebellion woodblock printed art and socializing

It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun with some amazing and great people from all walks of life. I'm happy that I was in the same group with Dr. Jill Stein as there's much anyone willing to listen can learn from her. I find her admirable and very interesting, and enjoyed listening to her.

Extinction Rebellion Boston is an autonomous chapter of the international grassroots movement, Extinction Rebellion (XR), which started in London in 2018. The purpose of XR is to tell the truth about how dire the ecological and climate crises are and spark immediate action in order to prevent climate and ecological collapse. We aim to mobilize people around the world to utilize nonviolent direct action to demand that governments take radical action to avert societal collapse caused by widespread climate and ecological disaster and to protect frontline communities, biodiversity, and the natural world. This movement is non-political and unites all of humanity behind a singular goal of a just and livable future for all. Learn more about Extinction Rebellion at: XRBoston.org
